Group reformer · Devonport
Reformer classes that build real strength.
Small-group reformer Pilates in Devonport, from 6am to 8pm. Long, lean, full-body work — taught properly, kept small, and welcoming whether it's your first class or your five-hundredth.
What it is
One machine, endless range.
The reformer is a sliding carriage with adjustable spring resistance — which means we can make the same exercise gentle or seriously demanding, and meet every body in the room where it is.
You'll build core strength, mobility and control without the pounding of high-impact training. It's kind to joints, brilliant for posture and back care, and it's the reason people leave feeling longer, stronger and calmer than when they walked in.
The classes
Four ways to take the reformer
Reformer Foundations
50 minNew to reformer
Your first stop. We slow it right down, teach the springs, the setup and the breath, and get you moving safely and confidently on the machine.
Reformer Flow

Our signature class. A full-body, flowing sequence that builds long, lean strength, mobility and control — different every time, always well cued.
Reformer Strength

More load, more challenge. Heavier spring work and tempo to build serious core and full-body strength once your foundations are solid.
Slow & Strong
45 minGentle · seniors
Unhurried, controlled and kind to the joints. Perfect for seniors, anyone returning to movement, or a day your body wants a softer session.

Good to know
Questions, answered
I've never done reformer Pilates — can I start here?
Absolutely, and most people do. Our Reformer Foundations class is built for complete beginners, and your first private session starts with a proper assessment. We'll show you the springs, the setup and the breath before anything else — you won't be thrown in the deep end.
What's the difference between a class and a private session?
Reformer classes are small group sessions on the machine, following a set class type. Private 1:1 and duet sessions are fully tailored to you across any of the equipment — the reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel and mat — and are ideal for rehab, pregnancy, or specific goals.
Do you work with back pain, injuries or post-surgery recovery?
Yes — it's one of the things we do best. We work gently and progressively, often alongside your physio or specialist, using the supported equipment like the Cadillac to rebuild strength safely. Start with a private session so we can assess you properly.
Is Beam suitable during and after pregnancy?
Yes. We offer safe, knowledgeable pre and post natal work, rebuilding core and pelvic-floor strength at a pace that's right for you. Private sessions or our dedicated Pre & Post Natal class are the best fit.
What should I wear and bring?
Comfortable activewear you can move in, and grippy socks if you have them (we can sort you out if not). Just bring water and yourself — we have everything else.
Where are you and is there parking?
We're at 3/64 Vauxhall Road in Devonport, easy to reach from across the peninsula and up to Takapuna. There's parking nearby and it's a short trip from Cheltenham, Narrow Neck, Bayswater and Belmont.
How do I book my first session?
Get in touch by email or phone, or send an enquiry through the site and we'll help you choose the right starting point — whether that's the two-week intro offer or a private assessment.
